The AKG K612 Pro is an open studio headphone with circumaural ear pads. Due to the largely linear frequency response, the sound of the AKG K612 PRO is very finely resolved and neutral. It is ideally suited for monitoring during mixing and for the analytical evaluation of recordings during mastering.
The AKG K612 PRO headphone diaphragms are thicker in the center than at the thin edge (AKG's patented Varimotion technology). Compared to normal diaphragms, this improves the vibration characteristics and the impulse response is much more accurate. Especially the spatial imaging and depth gradation benefit from this.
With open headphones, the housing is completely permeable to the outside. The sound image thus appears more spatial and corresponds more closely to natural listening habits. Other advantages of the open design are better heat exchange and the possibility to perceive external noise.
The wearing comfort of the AKG K612 PRO is excellent. The breathable ear pads are pleasantly soft and completely enclose the ear. For a secure fit, the headband automatically adjusts to the head. Due to its light weight, the AKG K612 PRO can be worn effortlessly even over a longer period of time.
